Shade isn't enough today. Thank you to the person (people) responsible for air conditioning. How did we ever survive as children without it?
this would be known as the poor man's air conditioning. i remember the first window unit my parents installed in NY. then they got another one. and then another. by 1965, we were pretty cool.
