Christmas

I had the idea that these would be the perfect stand-in for actually putting up a Christmas tree this year.

Is it working for you?

And what do you think of Christmas in pink?

And what do you think of the whole rebirth of the 1950s elf phenomenon? (They were creepy to me even back then, though I confess to having watched far too many Twilight Zone episodes with my sci-fi-obsessed brothers.)

Each December, my pal Nancy and I like to roam around the Geneva Antique Market, which is where I took these tree pictures. If you are into shiny and tidy, this is the store for you. (They didn't pay me to write that, I just like shiny and tidy. Also stray Renoirs, but they were fresh out.)

I never seem to be ready for Christmas. So many stray ends, so much to do. Sidetracked in the stores and sidetracked out.

Just my 2-cents worth, though in this economy, everything's going up.

Each week, Naperville Now participates in Mrs. Matlock's Alphabe-Thursday. Check out what other bloggers are posting about the letter C.

Nope - no pink or turquoise at Pondside at this time of year. I'm traditional to the bone, and it's red, green, gold, silver and white at Christmas for me. Elves? I like the little Danish ones we have around the house and find the 1950's one slightly scary!

I know my grandkids are feeling terrorized by the Elf On The Shelf at their house! It would have creeped my out as a kid. My grandma had a pink tree, just like that, in the 50's so it's nostalgic to me.

Once again another great post.

Love the tree pictures, but I can't say I love pink. I do have a bit of turquoise, purple and green this year though! I made a couple wreaths with a bit of those colors. I hung them outside and every time I see them I think EASTER! Maybe they'll grow on me?

I'm hoping to buy a white tree at an after Christmas sale this year! Shh...Don't tell my husband! :) He thinks ONE tree is enough!

This is the first time I've seen a pink Christmas tree! It's unique and interesting, but I think I'll stick to a real green tree. :-)

Sorry, I don't think pink is for me, definitely not on a Christmas tree. I do however love the sparkling lights all over during the festive season. Really not sure if we're going to have a tree this year...

This is my Alphabe- Thursday - for letter 'C' @ ImagesByCW is about Charleston

When JDaniel was really little, we used only a table top tree.

Living in the north woods of Wisconsin, we must have a fresh green tree every year and my husband would not tolerate pink very well:o) I am just too old fashioned - cranberry reds, golds and Old World ornaments are what catch my heart.

I think the trees are fun. Would I put one up? maybe....if I wasn't busy just dealing with what I have already! Pink is cute, but it wouldn't be the main tree in my house. Hmmm...not sure where that would fit actually...
Last week, I went with friends to an town with lots of antique stores. It was fun walking through, seeing all the "old" stuff.

I love the pink one!

It is inCredibly Cute!

I think it's clever to use little trees instead of big ones!

I would love to change all the colors around here...but I'm just using what I have this year!

Thanks for sharing your Christmas decor!
